Harrias House is a Registered Care Home which aims to provide a warm, friendly, comfortable and secure home, with caring attentive staff, for elderly people who no longer wish, or feel able, to look after themselves.
Located a short distance from the centre of Old Beaconsfield, Harrias House was established as a Residential Home fifty years ago, and celebrated its Golden Anniversary in 2005.
The lovely Edwardian house was built in the early 1900's, and is part of the Hall Barn Estate. For a time the country home of Lord Reith, it stands in three acres of delightful gardens where Residents can enjoy level walks or just sitting on the terrace, as they wish.
The Home is run on a not-for-profit basis by the Beaconsfield Housing Society, a registered charity which was established in 1954 solely to provide a care home in the town.
The Management Committee comprises members of the local community who work on a voluntary basis, and whose objective is to keep Residents' fees as low as possible whilst providing a very comfortable, caring environment.
The Home is small, accommodating up to only 17 Residents, and has a country house ambiance that is totally non-institutional. As a result, it feels like a home-from-home for the Residents, who are known to all the staff and other Residents.
Short Stay, Respite care and Convalescence :
As well as long-stay residents, we also offer short stays, for respite care and convalescence. This is highly popular, and we have many regular short-stay Residents. The small size of the Home means that newcomers quickly get to know the other Residents and staff, and soon feel at home.
Harrias House is registered with the Commission for Social Care Inspection and is a member of the Buckinghamshire Association of Care Homes.
