Care :

At Harrias House we have a team of very experienced  Carers whose primary aim is the well-being, comfort and contentment of the Residents.

They have undertaken formal training on all aspects of care, and also attend regular refresher courses.

Prior to admission, we will undertake a detailed assessment of the capabilities and care needs of a prospective Resident. Following admission, a Care Plan will be drawn up detailing their needs together with health and personal and social care objectives. It will be reviewed and updated daily, monitoring their day-to-day living.

Meals :

A varied menu of freshly-prepared balanced meals cooked in our Kitchen is provided for the delight of Residents, and special diets can be catered for.

Residents' guests may stay for meals by prior arrangement for a small charge.

Early morning tea/coffee is served in the Resident's room and a hot drink at night is also  served in the Resident's room  or the Lounge, as they wish.

If a Resident is unwell, meals will be taken to their room.

Activities :

We encourage Residents to pursue their hobbies and preferred activities, and to maintain any  outside interests. Our Activities Organiser also organises various games, exercises, craft and other activities for Residents who wish to participate.

Additionally, entertainment is arranged on a regular basis, ranging from talks on interesting subjects to music sessions, be it with a small group playing sing-along oldies or a soloist or choir  singing songs from the shows.

We also arrange visits to local places of interest for Residents who wish to go.

Family and Friends :

Visitors are welcome at any time, in the public rooms, Resident rooms or the gardens.

They are provided with refreshments free of charge, and are welcome to stay for meals  for a small charge.

Subject to availability, overnight accommodation can be provided for Residents' guests for a reasonable charge.
